Learning to Look at the Full Story
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (NIV) John 3:16
This verse is one of the most recognized verses of the Bible as it summarizes the overall theme and provides the true meaning of what it is to be a Christian. John 3:16 is often quoted without context or back story, which leaves a lot on the table in terms of what the reader can take away from it.
The Bible, much like John 3:16, is best taken in as a complete story in order to fully understand the message and gain a better understanding of how each Bible story fits together into what is the best-selling book of all time.
Here at Cornerstone, we are diving back into “The Story” as way to break down the Bible into individual stories in chronological stories. We will be picking up where we left off, so if you are new to Cornerstone, missed a week or would like to re-watch one of Pastor Ron Armstrong’s sermons on “The Story”, check out our archive of past sermons to catch up.
“The Story” weaves the scriptures together into a well-paced, accessible version of the Bible that forgoes verses and instead formats the message in a way that reads like a novel. Each week at Cornerstone, Pastor Ron’s message will focus on an individual story of the Bible and offer insight into what we can gain from each one in a modern world.
This sermon series offers a great way to work through the Bible on both a personal level, as a family and a fantastic way to stay connected to your Cornerstone family. We will all be working through the same stories at the same time, all learning together. If you are new to Cornerstone, we encourage you to visit our New Here? page to get a better feel of how our weekend services are laid out and to find which one of our five services times works best for your schedule.
Even if you have an understanding of the stories of the bible, this sermon series is a great way or reminder of how their messages apply to your real life in the real world.
