3 Ways to Give Your Child True Joy
We live in a world of “I want this”, and “I want that”. There are times where it seems like no matter how much stuff you give and do for your student, it is never enough. The truth is it never will be. True joy only comes through a relationship with Jesus Christ. And I’m going to give you the tools to make this happen.
1.) Take Them to Kid’s Church
No, this isn’t an excuse to tell you how awesome Cornerstone Kidz is (even though it is). But, the truth is that children learn to enjoy church and experience the joy of Christ when the Word of God is given to them on a level they understand. Kid’s church isn’t a babysitter; it is a place to jumpstart your child’s faith with curriculum designed just for them.
2.) Set the Example
You know how people say that your kid acts just like you? Well sometimes that isn’t a compliment. As parents we have to set the tone and show our kids that joy doesn’t come from “stuff”. True joy comes when we enter into a relationship with Jesus Christ. But, if you are always miserable why would you expect anything else from your son or daughter?
3.) Give Them God’s Word
I’m not talking about buying them a bible. If you want your kid to start experiencing joy, then start pouring into their lives. This means being intentional about bible and prayer time. We all have dreams about being the greatest parents ever. But, that won’t happen by buying toys and taking them on awesome trips. It comes when you give them something they can actually build on and use; God’s Word.
This is just one of the many emotions we are going to be talking about at Vacation Bible School. And although we will be having inflatables, crafts, skits, and other “stuff”, that isn’t really what it is all about. At the end of the day we want the students to leave with something far better. We want students to experience JESUS.
If you’d like to register your kids for VBS, you can register online. Keep in mind that registration is $32 per child. And if you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
