The Best-Selling Book of All Time

There’s nothing quite like a great book—one that grabs you from the first page and keeps you interested all the way to the end. One with intrigue and plot twists; epic battles and family feuds; feats of heroism and sacrificial love.

The Bible, which contains all of these elements and more, has been captivating readers for more than 2,000 years. The stories it contains have all the makings of a best-selling novel or blockbuster film. In fact, Guinness World Records has declared the Bible to be the “Best-Selling Book of Non-Fiction” of all time, with a recent estimate putting the number of copies of the Bible in print at more than 5 billion! In addition, films based on Bible stories routinely do well at the box office, with such notable titles as The Passion of the Christ, The 10 Commandments, and the animated Prince of Egypt.

The Bible is compelling, but more than that, it is true and it is practical, even for today. Its stories contain lessons on marriage, parenting, money and a host of other topics we all struggle with on a daily basis. That’s why we’re excited to be launching a new series of sermons at Cornerstone entitled “The Story,” beginning the weekend of August 15-16.

“The Story” series will take the Bible and break it down, in chronological order, into its individual stories. Every week, Senior Pastor Ron Armstrong will present a story from the Bible, offering insights into what each story has to teach us today.

By the end of the series, those in attendance will have received a chronological overview of the Bible and have a better understanding of how its individual stories fit together into a single grand narrative.

If you’ve never been to church, or if it has been a while, the beginning of “The Story” series is a great time to get started (again). Visit our New Here? page to find out what you can expect at a Saturday evening or Sunday morning service at Cornerstone. We’d love to have you join us at any of our five weekend service times!

If you feel like you already know the stories of the Bible—even if you’re one of those people who reads through your Bible every year—this series of sermons is for you too! We will present the stories of the Bible in a way that offers everyone something relevant, practical, and maybe even life-changing!
