Krystina Gottschlich – Comforted by Love

I had been a Christ follower most of my life, but after I gave birth to my second child, God revealed Himself to me. The delivery went off without a hitch, but 2 days after my return home from the hospital; I got a massive headache which made it difficult to sleep. Soon I found it hard to breathe and my vision became impaired. I heard God speak to me and tell me to check my blood pressure. When I did, it became obvious that something was very wrong. I called my doctor and shared the reading. She told me to stop whatever I was doing and have my husband drive me to the hospital immediately.

As it turns out, I suffered a stroke! If I had gone to sleep that night without listening to God’s voice, I likely would not have woken up. I spent the next 7 days in intensive care on medication and under observation while my husband took care of our newborn son and 3 year old daughter. During this time, not only did I receive calls from the pastor, but my Cornerstone Mom2Mom group wrote me the most beautiful letters and delivered dinners to my husband and children. We were so comforted by these acts of love and care.

Although the situation was very scary and unsettling, it allowed me to grow in my faith with my church and with God. I am so thankful and blessed because of the love and support Cornerstone and my Mom2Mom group provided.
